Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles Hosts the 76th Anniversary Korean War Commemoration Ceremony

As the Korean War marks its 76th anniversary, a commemorative ceremony was held at the Korean War Memorial in Fullerton, Orange County.

Organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles, the event honored U.S. Korean War veterans and their families by presenting them with the Ambassador for Peace Medal as an expression of gratitude for their service and sacrifice during the Korean War.

Korean War veteran Joseph Wang shared:

“I have always considered defending Korea to be the same as defending my own country. I am honored to be here today to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War. June 25 is a day that will remain in my memory forever.”

The U.S. Army’s 300th Army Band also supported the ceremony, and scholarships were awarded to descendants of Korean War veterans.
